Professor Farmer was appointed as a member of COC when he became chair
of COM in November 2001. He has previously been a member of the COC before
he moved to COM in April 2000. His main research interests are in the
investigation and use of chemical induced DNA and protein adducts in carcinogen/mutagen
risk assessment and the development of biomarkers for cancer risk assessments.
He has an international reputation in this area and is involved in several
EU collaborative research activites.
