Clinical scientist for the Varicella Identification programme |
Varicella Identification programme. Funded by the pharmacovigilence
section of SPMSD. This money funds a clinical scientist to identify rashes following
Merck varicella vaccine use in Europe. This work is complementary to the work
for the HPA supporting the UK healthcare workers programme. |
Money for assessment of diagnostic assays for commercial companies
- £13000 received from GSK for assessment of Enzyme immunoassay on sera.
£10,000 from Wyeth for evaluation of KSHV tests
Currently committed to two meetings : Working Against Varicella in Europe. (WAVE)
funded by an educational grant from GSK the fee from this will go into the funds
below
Global virus meeting in Geneva on Varicella and
zoster. This is an independent meeting funded by multiple pharmaceutical companies.
Discusses management and prevention of wide range of viruses. This meeting will
include one day on Herpes simplex preceding the VZV meeting. The fee from this
will go into the funds below
Payments are made into
two accounts: Account 9030B Academic virology account - signatories J Breuer and
LMC Hall .
Special trustees account diagnostic virology-
account signatories Tony Oliver, Frank Ward, J Breuer.
These accounts are used to support training and travel for research and diagnostic
