| Clinical Excellence Awards Scheme |
The Clinical Excellence Awards Scheme recognises and rewards
NHS consultants and academic GPs who perform over and above the standard expected
of their role. It is managed and overseen by the Advisory Committee on Clinical
Excellence Awards (ACCEA).
Please note the
closing date for the 2009 National Clinical Excellence Awards Round will be Friday
19 December 2008. All fully completed applications, ranked lists from employers,
nominating bodies and specialist societies must be received by 5pm on that date. |
2009 guides Applying for an award- To
apply for an award, you will need to complete an application form yourself - no
one can do this on your behalf.
- Before applying, you must read the Guide
for Applicants

which explains the process and how your application will be assessed. - If
you already hold an award, and would like to apply for a higher one, you will
need to read the Guide for Award Holders.
Supporting an application- If
one of your consultants is applying for an award, please download and read the
Guide for Employers to
find out what you need to do to support applicants.
- Professional bodies
nominating consultants also have a vital role to play. Please read the Guide
for Nominators
before submitting your nominations.
Assessing an application
- If you are on an awards committee, for
either employer-based or national awards, it is important to know exactly what
to look for when assessing applications.

for more details on what criteria you should be using to assess applicants.
