Dr Roberts was appointed as a member in April 2000. She is a molecular
toxicologist with particular interest in the mechanism of chemical induced
carcinogenesis and in pharmacogenetics (the role played by individual
genetic variation in the response to drugs). She has extensive research
experience in the molecular mechanisms of adverse response to chemicals
focusing on apoptosis, transcription and inter-species differences. She
has considerable experience within the agrochemical and pharmaceutical
industries in evaluating chemicals for their potential to induce carcinogenesis.
