Sir Liam Donaldson, the Government's Chief Medical
Officer, has announced today that Dr Gillian Clare and Dr Elizabeth Parry will
be the two new Members of the Committee on Mutagenicity of Chemicals in Food,
Consumer Products and the Environment. Dr Clare and Dr Parry have been appointed
for a term of three years with effect from 1 April 2002.
The appointments have been agreed by the Chairman
of the Board of the Food Standards Agency. The appointments have been made in

of methods to measure aneuploidy through European Union funded research.
Dr Gillian Clare is
head of genetic toxicity at the Huntingdon Life Sciences. She has very extensive
experience in genetic toxicology over many years both in industrial research
