  Industry and Government agree that it is important to measure the extent of the medical devices industry, and its performance and progress. An initial set of metrics was published as Annex D to the HITF report. Since then, the metrics tables have been updated. Further tables have been produced and these will be published after the final SIG meeting in November 2006

  The House of Common's Health Committee published its report on the Use of New Medical Technologies within the NHS on 12 April 2005. This Command Paper sets out the Government's response to the recommendations and conclusions in the Committee's report.

• Centre for Evidence-based Purchasing
  On 1 September 2005 the Device Evaluation Service transfers from the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) to NHS PASA and will be known as the Centre for Evidence-based Purchasing.
