Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation JOB DESCRIPTION FOR A PAEDIATRCIAN AND PUBLIC HEALTH SPECIALIST ON THE JOINT COMMITTEE ON VACCINATION AND IMMUNISATION As members of the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) you will work with the Chair and other Members using your experience, expertise and knowledge to guide the work of the Committee and to offer appropriate advice to UK Health Ministers. The Committee plays a key role in providing advice on developing vaccination and immunisation issues within the UK and also contributing towards vaccination policy world-wide. You will:
Training Appropriate training for new members will be given. Time commitment The Committee meets three times a year. In addition there are a number of Panels/Sub Committees that are convened to look at specific issues. Members may be invited to join one of more of these and additional days may be required. At least one day's preparation time is needed for each meeting. The Secretariat may also contact members for advice on specific issues as they arise. Remuneration Appointments to JCVI are unsalaried but members receive travel and subsistence at the prevalent Department of Health rates. Appointment and Tenure of Office
